Mountain Sage Publishing was created in 2005 by Thomas M. Sterner to provide a means for publishing his own book, “The Practicing Mind: Bringing Discipline and Focus Into Your Life”. After the initial release of his book in print format, he moved on to the production of the audio book version. This began with the creation of Mountain Sage Productions, a commercial project studio designed around one task: the creation of the finest quality audio book available.

Thomas M. Sterner has had a passion for audio books and narrative presentations for the past 25 years. Utilizing his talents as a writer, composer, and arranger, Mr. Sterner has found audio book creation the perfect avenue for artistic expression, and this is how he views the process of converting a printed book into a retail-ready audio book form. His values are shared by all who work for Mountain Sage Productions.

An audio book is more than just a narration. WHEN to use music, WHAT kind of music, and HOW to keep the listener interested - all are a part of the project.  To this end, Mr. Sterner and his staff have studied the most successful audio books on the market to better understand what works and what doesn’t.

Before becoming a successful writer, Thomas M. Sterner owned and operated a very successful service business. His integrity, work ethic and attention to detail earned him an extremely loyal customer base. He has brought all of these qualities into his publishing company. Here at Mountain Sage Productions, we use the finest state-of-the-art recording and editing equipment available. And because we specialize in audio book production only, we are not distracted by other project types. We are totally focused on one objective…to make your audio book the best artistic expression of your printed book possible.
